MIRACLE MONDAYS – Maddie Wycoff
“The first week she was born, I cried a lot. I wanted reassurance that Maddy could survive.”
Maddy Wycoff was just 2 lbs, 4 oz when she was born at 27 weeks.
“Maddy became very ill about halfway through her stay at the NICU,” said Lisa Jostes , Maddy’s mom. “During that time, I saw her struggling to breathe, and they rushed me out of the NICU to attend to her.
At one point, the doctor sat us down to tell us she might not live.” But she did.
Maddy is now a completely healthy 15-year-old! She loves reading, “Supernatural” and the Boston Red Sox. “The staff truly are angels doing a ‘job’ that is part of the miracles that happen in the NICU every day.”
